Risøyhamn - Åknes summer and winter

  • Starting point – Risøyhamn, alternative Andenes

  • Duration: 3 -5 hours Summer / Winter

  • Skills: A bit of easy walking

  • Participants: 10-15 (if not otherwise agreed)

  • Pass the new onshore fish farm and Andøya Space.

Following an introduction, there will be a local walk in Risøyhamn from the Hurtigruten harbor area, visiting the local museum and exploring the local nature.
There will be a brief explanation of the areas development and the famous "Risøyrenna" the offshore channel that allows ships to pass. In the summertime, we will walk on the protected bird beaches. We will travel to Åknes beaches to explain the results of the last ice age, including moraine formations and local history.
